Doug Wingler Named Head Softball Coach at Southeast Arkansas College
SEARK is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Wingler as the new head coach of the college's softball program.
Wingler joins SEARK after serving the past seven seasons as head coach at Mendocino College in Ukiah, California. During his tenure at Mendocino, Wingler oversaw all aspects of the program and played a key role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Before his tenure at Mendocino, Wingler spent 10 years coaching at the high school level, gaining valuable experience in both assistant and head coaching roles. His commitment to player development and leadership has been evident throughout his career.
A former collegiate athlete himself, Wingler played catcher and second base at the University of Louisville, where he earned Second Team All-Metro Conference honors as a senior. He began his college playing career at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, before transferring to the University of Louisville.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Wingler," said Chad Kline, Athletic Director at Southeast Arkansas College. "His passion for the game, extensive coaching background, and dedication to student-athletes make him the ideal leader to continue building our softball program."
Wingler's hiring marks a new chapter for SEARK softball as the college continues to grow its athletics program and provide opportunities for student-athletes in Southeast Arkansas.
